The cash stipends celebrate staff efforts in raising student literacy by third grade.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation is excited to announce that we are awarding cash stipends for all staff to celebrate their efforts in raising student literacy by third grade and as appreciation for everyone’s hard work.
Indiana School Corporations received an Early Literacy Achievement Grant from the Indiana Department of Education, "established through House Enrolled Act (HEA) 1001-2023, to reward schools and teachers for improving students' foundational reading skills, as evidenced by IREAD-3 data. Through HEA 1001-2023, $10M has been allocated in each year of the biennium to award cash stipends for teachers, instructional coaches, and other school staff responsible for the implementation and delivery of literacy and reading instruction through grade three."
The state awarded our school corporation these funds to reward our success in higher student literacy by third grade. The state instructed that these funds may only be given to those teachers, instructional coaches, and other school staff (no administrators) responsible for the implementation and delivery of literacy and reading instruction through third grade.
The LCSC Board of Trustees values all employees of the school corporation and recognizes each contributes to the success of our students. For this reason, the LCSC Board of Trustees approved to match stipends for all other LCSC staff members.
Therefore, as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication, all Certified Staff (general ed, special ed, special areas, speech-language pathologists, administrators, counselors, social workers, etc.) will receive a grossed-up $1,000 stipend while all Classified Staff (instructional assistants, custodians, secretaries, food service, maintenance, bus drivers, nurses, SROs, etc.) will receive a grossed-up $500 stipend.
We are truly grateful for everything all of our staff does every day to make our students’ education excellent.
