(Batesville, Ind.) - Kids Discovery Factory (KDF) receives $20,000 grant from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation to support renovation of their building at 110 Sycamore Street in downtown Batesville.
The building and neighboring lot, valued at more than $400,000, was donated by Batesville Tool & Die to Kids Discovery Factory to support the expansion of their current science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) outreach programs into a permanent discovery center. Kids Discovery Factory will house world-class interactive exhibits, benefitting children, families and schools throughout southeastern Indiana. The project will positively impact quality of life, regional tourism, economic growth and workforce development.
Daryl Werner, KDF Board President, said, “We are grateful for the incredible grant support from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation. The Kids Discovery Factory team is focused on implementing plans for building renovations and designing exhibits for our permanent home. When it is complete, the discovery center will provide a truly unique educational destination for our regional community.”
Kids Discovery Factory is looking for exhibit and visitor experience feedback from regional families. A link to the survey can be found on their website: www.KidsDiscoveryFactory.org.
