Kayakers, Canoers Can Clean Versailles State Park On Earth Day

(Versailles, Ind.) – Indiana state parks will host Earth Day activities on Sunday, April 22.

The Versailles State Park is calling on volunteers, including kayakers, canoers and walkers who use the park, for a cleanup and lake sweep from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. Activities will be coordinated from the pool parking lot by park staff.

You can bring your own kayak or canoe, or borrow one from the limited supply of the park’s vessels.

Volunteers are also needed to walk and collect trash from the Versailles State Park grounds. Trash grabbers and bags will be provided.

Clifty Falls State Park near Madison will offer a Build a Bluebird House workshop at 10:00 a.m. The event is limited to 15 people, and there is a $10 per person fee. Register at 812-273-0609.

At 1:00 p.m., the Clifty Falls State Park nature center will offer a program about leafcutter bees, which don’t need hives. Discover how you can help them during this one-hour program.
