(Versailles, Ind.) – Jordan Knudson faced 45 to 65 years behind bars when he entered Ripley Circuit Court on Tuesday morning.
It was the maximum sentence of 65 years that was handed down from Judge Ryan King.
Knudson was convicted of murdering Kristina Jones during a jury trial in April. Prosecutor Ric Hertel called the murder "brutal" as Knudson shot Jones three times from close range with a .410 shotgun.
When the initial murder charge was filed, a news release showed that Jones reported being physically abused with multiple episodes of being knocked out by her boyfriend, Knudson. She filed a Protective Order against Knudson in December 2020.
She was killed in January 2021.
