(Dearborn County, Ind.) - Dearborn County 4-H members and families invite you to visit the 2017 Dearborn County Fair June 19 through June 24 and witness 4-H members live, learn and grow through completion of 4-H projects and activities. Dearborn County offers 4-H members 101 projects to choose from, beginning with aerospace and ending with woodworking. 4-H projects include categories focusing on Healthy Living, Science & Technology, Leadership & Citizenship, Consumer & Family, Environment & Earth, Animals, Creative Expression, Plants, Farm, and Shooting Sports. 4-H members invite you to view their projects displayed in Agner Hall, located on the Fair Grounds, throughout the week. The Dearborn County 4-H Association invites you to support youth in our community by visiting the fair, viewing exhibits, and speaking with 4-H members and families to find out the value 4-H adds to their lives. Watch robotic demonstrations in Agner Hall Tuesday, June 20, from 1-7 pm to see robots in action. In an attempt to bring local awareness of community hunger needs, the 4-H and Community Fair will be collecting non-perishable food and kitchen items throughout fair week for Farmer Appreciation Day. Donating paid Fair admission patrons will receive a State Fair ticket for every ten items donated until tickets run out. Purdue Extension, Dearborn County Office in Aurora will accept food donations from June 26-July 31, or until tickets run out. Dearborn County Fair offers entertainment and activities suitable for the entire family! Opening Day-Monday June 19, features the Poultry and Dog Show, Opening Ceremony, frog jumping contest, Science Mayhem, 1-2-3-4 Kids Cook, Blue Grass Tractor Pull and 4-H Royalty crowning. Tuesday is Kid’s Day and offers the Rabbit & Swine Shows, Creative Writing story presentations, Fashion Review, Pedal Tractor Pull, Cincinnati Circus Magic Show, Interactive Recycling program, Pork cooking demo by Marcia Parcell, Lawn Mower race 7 back seat driver race and live music. Wednesday, Family Day, brings the Dairy Goat, Boer Goat, and Sheep Shows, along with the open Flower show, Baby Contest, Science Mayhem, Interactive Recycling program, Pie Auction & Bake Off, Fair Olympics and Lamb cooking with Marcia Parcell. Thursday, Recycle Day, highlights Horse & Pony, Pocket Pets, Cat, Alpaca, Dairy and Beef Shows, Recycle Mania Interactive games, Cincinnati Circus, Muddy Madness, Beef cooking demo with Marcia Parcell, & Pig in the pen... Friday, Farmer Appreciation Day boasts Lg Animal Supreme Showmanship, the 4-H Pork Chop Dinner, Kiwanis 4-H Livestock Auction and Dearborn County’s Got Talent. The Fair concludes Saturday, June 24, with Family Fun Day spotlighting 4-H exhibit hall, Science Mayhem, Cincinnati Circus Magic Show, and the Rodeo. Please mark your calendars for June 19-24th.
