(Greendale, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving, Inc. is scheduled to begin intersection improvement work at the intersection of U.S. 50, State Road 1 (Belleview Drive), and the I-275 on-ramp beginning on or after Monday, July 28, in Greendale.

Periodic lane closures and flagging operations will be used on U.S. 50 and S.R. 1 (Belleview Drive) while work is in progress. Work is expected to be complete in late September, weather permitting.

Intersection changes include the following:

  • Reducing the ramp from eastbound U.S. 50 to I-275 from two lanes to one lane
  • Installing an additional thru lane from southbound S.R. 1 (Belleview Drive) to I-275, resulting in two thru lanes
  • Island curb reconfiguration work on U.S. 50
  • Installing new pavement markings and permanent signage

These changes are anticipated to help reduce backups and delays along S.R. 1 (Belleview Drive) by allowing more capacity for the thru movement entering I-275. Signage will be placed in the area prior to the start of work.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
