State Rep. Randy Frye his hoping to help military families this upcoming legislative session.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Indiana lawmakers are already gearing up for the 2019 legislative session with interim study committees.

State Representative Randy Frye of Greensburg says one of his top priorities in these hearings is to help military families find civilian jobs.

“Determining how we can better serve our veterans when they move to the state of Indiana and they have a certification maybe from another state or maybe from the military,” said Frye.

Another top legislative priority will be smoking regulations.

Two members of the Alliance for a Healthier Indiana testified last week, saying Indiana has one of the highest smoking rates in the nation.

They proposed raising the cigarette tax and increasing the smoking age from 18 to 21.
