(Dearborn County, Ind.) – A man suspected of burglarizing a home in Dearborn County is back in Indiana to face the charges. Charles R. Davis, 35, of Brookville, was charged with Burglary (level 4 felony) on March 14, 2017. He was booked into jail at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center on Tuesday, September 12. Davis had been arrested in Ohio in July of 2016 after he was recorded on video breaking into multiple laundry machines at a Harrison apartment complex. He was later released from jail. That following November, detectives with the Dearborn County Special Crimes Unit began investigating multiple burglaries being committed in the county, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in court. The investigation developed to include Davis as a suspect. Davis was already fingered for a home burglary in Cincinnati. He was also seen cashing in items from various burglaries at pawn shops in the Colerain area. A home on Ester Ridge Road near St. Leon was broken into on March 13. Detectives recovered two distinct shoeprints from inside the residence. Investigators tracked Davis to a hotel in Florence, Kentucky. While interviewing him in a hotel room, a detective observed the bottom of Davis’ boot, which appeared to match the print found at the burglary scene. A woman who was in the room with Davis, Maren Rychener, advised that she had driven Davis and another unidentified male to the residence on Ester Ridge Road. She told investigators she remained in the car while Davis and the other man went into home and came out carrying items. Davis made his initial appearance in Dearborn Circuit Court on September 13. He was ordered held on a $100,000 surety bond and a $2,500 cash only bond. As of Wednesday, Davis remains in jail at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for October 30. If convicted, Davis faces up to 12 years behind bars. RELATED STORIES: Apartment Tenant Accused Of Breaking Into Coin Washing Machines
