I-74 Remains Closed Following Early Morning Fatal Crash Near Batesville

The accident is impacting westbound traffic.

(Franklin County, Ind.) – Interstate 74 remains closed in the Batesville area due to a fatal crash.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Stephen Wheeles reports that the crash involving a commercial motor vehicle took place at the 147 mile marker around 4:30 this morning.

Officers on the scene have been working to divert westbound traffic off I-74 at the Batesville exit and onto State Road 46.

No further information has been provided at this time.
