(Gallatin County, Ky.) – A resurfacing project on Interstate 71 in Gallatin County has resumed.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, nighttime lane closures will be required between KY 35 near the Kentucky Speedway north to the Boone County line for a total of 10 miles.

Base failure work took place last fall on several locations within the project area.

Motorists should watch for lane closures and crews during nighttime hour of 8:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. Sunday nights through Friday mornings, weather permitting.

Lane closures are expected on both sides of I-71.

The project completion date is August 2022.
