Huntersville Road Closure Extended into Mid-November

Huntersville Road was previously scheduled to reopen in late August.

(Franklin County, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Sunesis Construction Company continues bridge replacement work on Huntersville Road over I-74 in Batesville.

Huntersville Road will remain closed as work continues to progress and is expected to reopen in mid-November, weather permitting. Huntersville Road was previously scheduled to reopen in late August. The schedule has been modified due to project material adjustments.

During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows C.R. 700 S. to S.R. 229 to S.R. 46.

Periodic shoulder closures and rolling slowdowns will be used on I-74 while bridge work is in progress. INDOT will provide additional information as needed.

This work is part of a $2.6 million contract awarded to Sunesis in September 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
