Homeowners Acts Quick in Morris Fire

No injuries occurred.

(Morris, Ind.) - Morris Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on Tuesday night. 

The incident occurred at a home on East Morris Church Road. 

Upon arrival, the residents, along with their pets, had evacuated after a stove caught fire. According to Morris Volunteer Fire Department, the homeowner acted quickly and doused the flames with personal fire extinguishers, stopping the fire from spreading further. 

Firefighters verified that no fire had spread within the walls or attic spaces and helped ventilate the smoke. 

No injuries were reported.
