Sheriff's deputies will be seen more frequently on U.S. 52 between Brookville and New Trenton.

(Franklin County, Ind.) – Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies are stepping up patrols on a roadway that has been the scene of far too many accidents.
Sheriff Ken Murphy announced Tuesday that motorists will see increased patrols along U.S. 52 between Brookville and New Trenton.
“Due to the recent increase in deadly and personal injury accidents along that stretch of U.S. 52, we are going to dedicate resources in that particular part of the county with the hope of reducing the number of accidents and preventing further tragedies,” Murphy stated.
Since May 1, Sheriff’s deputies have responded to two fatal accidents, eight personal injury accidents and 17 property damage accidents on U.S. 52.
Deputy patrols will be focusing on dangerous driving behavior, such as speeding, following too close, driving left of center and passing in no passing zones.
Citizens are also encouraged to report dangerous drivers by calling 911 or by contacting the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department at 765-647-4138.
