(Wilmington, Oh.) – A Heat Advisory for the tri-state area will turn into an Excessive Heat Warning at noon today.
The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued the Excessive Heat Warning from noon until 9:00 p.m.
Heat index values are expected to be more than 105 this afternoon.
The extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
Beginning Friday, the Aurora Fire Department (5950 Dutch Hollow Road) will be open (8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.) for you to cool off, hydrate and relax inside the firehouse. This opportunity will run until the heat advisory is suspended.
