(Wilmington, Oh.) - Summer heat is here.
With daytime highs in the 90s and heat index values expected to exceed 100 for a majority of this week, the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the tri-state area.
The advisory will run from noon today until 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
The National Weather Service recommends you drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
