Miami Whitewater Forest will have fish stocked during warmer months.
(Hamilton County, Oh.) - Great Parks will stock over 10,000 pounds of fish in five popular fishing spots throughout Hamilton County this year, filling the water for anglers to reel in big catches all season long. Plenty of prime fishing spots are available, as Great Parks has hundreds of acres of lakes and 25 miles of river frontage on four major rivers.
Fish will include channel catfish in warmer months, and in cooler months, trout will be added to Lake Isabella. Additional species to be added at Lake Isabella will be shovelhead (blue catfish) and hybrid bluegill.
Projected first stocking dates will be:
- Lake Isabella – March 1, with four more stocking dates to follow in March, and additional fish to be stocked each month through November.
Lake Isabella will be stocked with trout through mid-April, and again in October and November. Channel catfish will be added from late April-September as the water temperature warms. Great Parks will also stock Lake Isabella with hybrid bluegill before May 30, and shovelhead (blue catfish) before June 30.
- Triple Creek – April 27, with channel catfish.
- Mitchell Memorial Forest – June 7, with channel catfish.
- Miami Whitewater Forest – June 21, with channel catfish.
- Winton Woods – July 18, with channel catfish.
