Dearborn and Switzerland counties will each receive $350,000.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - A couple southeastern Indiana counties are getting grants to develop owner occupied home rehabilitation projects.
Dearborn County and Switzerland County will each receive $350,000 for Community Development Block Grant Owner Occupied Rehabilitation projects. The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority approved the federal grants.
The money will help make building improvements at 15 low- to moderate-income homes in Dearborn County and 14 homes in Switzerland County.
"This program checks the box in each of the three areas of our mission which is to provide housing opportunities, promote self-sufficiency and strengthen communities," said Jacob Sipe, Executive Director of IHCDA. "In addition to ensuring the integrity of the homes, this work promotes independence by providing greater accessibility and ultimately making the homes safer. We look forward to working closely with these communities to identify eligible homeowners."
In all, the IHCDA awarded a total of $2.56 million in OOR grants in nine Indiana municipalities.
