(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Due to the coronavirus, many 2020 graduates were unable to celebrate their accomplishments by walking across the stage to receive their diplomas, this includes preschool graduates.

A normal graduation celebration would include gathering at the Dearborn County Adult Center dressed in cap and gown. Although that was no longer an option with current guidelines and restrictions, the staff was bound and determined to celebrate the 2020 graduates.

Sunshine Corner and Sunshine Corner Too staff members decided to hold a virtual graduation along with a graduation celebration parade to recognize this milestone for the Preschoolers.

A total of 23 stops, over 91 miles, and 6 hours of "pure fun" allowed for a non-traditional recognition of 26 out of the 35 members of the Sunshine Corner graduating class.

"We had so much fun stopping by each home and seeing the delight on the children’s faces, some we have not seen since mid-March when the pandemic began, and celebrating each student with some goodies, a yard sign and a special little song to let them know how proud we are of them," says Sunshine Corner and Sunshine Corner Too Owner and Director, Karla Lorey.

While every graduating class is special, this year was specifically special for the graduating class of Sunshine Corner Too. The 2020 class of Sunshine Corner Too is the graduating class of the first infants since the doors opened in 2015.

"We have had the privilege and honor of sharing in the lives of these sweet littles for the past 5 years and not recognizing this milestone for them, or any of the children graduating our PreK program this year, was not an option," says Lorey.

From Eagle Country 99.3, congratulations to the Sunshine Corner and Sunshine Corner Too graduates!

Sorry, it doesn't look like there's any photos here just yet.
