Gov. Braun, INDOT Award Over $200M in Community Crossings Matching Grants

Eight local communities received funding.

INDIANAPOLIS - Governor Mike Braun and the Indiana Department of Transportation today announced the award of more than $200 million in Community Crossings matching grants for local road and bridge projects across 245 Indiana cities, towns, and counties.

“Improving and maintaining roads and bridges at all levels is crucial for enhancing quality of life and public safety for Hoosiers,” said Gov. Braun. “Communities across the state need investment in their local infrastructure and we are pleased to partner with them to make necessary improvements.”

Communities submitted applications for funding during a highly competitive call for projects in January. Funding for Community Crossings comes from the state’s local road and bridge matching grant fund. Community Crossings has provided more than $2 billion for local road improvement projects since its inception in 2016.

Local communities receiving funding include:

  • Aurora - $256,515.00
  • Batesville - $951, 648.35
  • Franklin County - $1,122,791.40
  • Jennings County - $1,500,000.00
  • Lawrenceburg - $1,113,695.25
  • Madison - $1,500,000.00
  • Ohio County - $1,500,000.00
  • Ripley County - $1,497,866.94

"I appreciate the benefits that will come from the Community Crossings Matching Grants awarded in our community," said State Senator Randy Maxwell. "I am looking forward to seeing the improvements made on our local infrastructure and the positive impact they will have in Senate District 43."
