GoFundMe Aims to Restore Smile of Local Man

Any donation, large or small, is appreciated.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A GoFundMe has been started to help a local man get his smile back.

If you have ever met Doug Richardson, you know that he has a big smile and an even bigger heart and loves connecting with people.

He was born with corpus callosum, the part of the brain that connects the left and right hemispheres. This rare condition has made life full of challenges, but through it all he's shown great resilience overcoming obstacles.

Doug, a Lawrenceburg native, was also born without enamel on his teeth, which has left them extremely weak and prone to damage. Over the years, he has experienced several dental issues. The best option moving forward is to pull the teeth and get dentures, which will restore Doug's smile and give him confidence and comfort.

A GoFundMe, set up by Doug's brother, Matt, will cover the most urgent treatment. The total cost is likely to exceed the amount of the goal, which has been set at $10,000

"He's a much-loved part of this community and we can't express enough how grateful we are for your support. Whether you can give financially or simply share the story, know that you're helping bring back a smile that has brightened countless peoples' days," reads a portion of the GoFundMe page.
