Girlfriend Allegedly Left Overdose Victim For Dead

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Four Lawrenceburg residents are being charged following a fatal overdose. Ryan Robbins was allegedly left for dead by his girlfriend and others when he overdosed on heroin at his girlfriend’s home on Scudder Drive last December. Robbins’ girlfriend, Stephanie Vastine, also known as Stephanie Golden, sought help from her neighbor George Simonson III before fleeing the scene with her friend Sheena Norman, according to a the probable cause affidavit filed in court by investigators. Vastine sent multiple Facebook messages to a family member in the wake of the incident: “My boyfriend overdosed on heroin.” “He died cops looking for me.” “Had a friend call 911 and I left I was scared he was only 28.” Vastine was eventually brought in for questioning when she was arrested for a probation violation unrelated to the investigation. Vastine told police that on the night of his death, Robbins had accompanied Derek Smith and Norman to Cincinnati to purchase heroin.  Vastine stated that Robbins shot up before he returned home.  She later left only to find him on the kitchen floor upon her return. On December 10, responded to a report of a possible intentional drug overdose at Vastine’s apartment. Vastine was found conscious in her home, but with poor motor functions.  She was treated at Dearborn County Hospital and later released. Vastine is being charged with Possession of a Narcotic Drug (Heroin) (Level 6 Felony), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony), Obstruction of Justice (Level 6 Felony), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor). She was arrested on February 28. Norman and Smith are each charged with Possession of a Narcotic Drug (Heroin) (Level 6 Felony) and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor). Their arrest warrants remain active. Simonson, who was arrested February 13, has been charged with Possession of a Narcotic Drug (Heroin) (Level 6 Felony).
