Gas Prices Up To $3.50 Range

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – As temperatures take a dip, local gas prices are heading the opposite direction.

The average retail price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the tri-state Thursday morning is $3.52, up about 20 cents since Tuesday, according to CincyGasPrices.com.

This is also the highest we’ve seen gas since mid-September. Local prices in 2011 peaked at $4.18 in May.

Ohio motorists are seeing the highest prices. Most stations in Harrison and Cleves are at $3.59.

Southeast Indiana’s prices are hovering in the $3.40 depending on which city or town a driver fills up in. In Florence, some stations are as low as $3.33.

One year ago tri-state gas prices were at about $3.04. Lundberg Survey editor Trilby Lundberg says

The cost of gasoline is up across the country as well. Lundberg Survey editor Trilby Lundberg says rising crude oil prices have pushed up the price at the pump by 12 cents a gallon over the past three weeks. The current national average is $3.35.
