Fundraising Goal Met for Brookville Sportsplex

The Brookville Pickleball Club spearheaded the fundraising campaign.

(Brookville, Ind.) – A fundraising goal has been met to transform a vacant space into a vibrant outdoor recreational sportsplex.

The Brookville Sportsplex would sit adjacent to Brookville Town Park and would feature eight ADA compliant pickleball courts, fencing around the courts, gates, benches and canopies for shade.

A few years ago, the Brookville Pickelball Club learned that a property at the corner of 9th and Mill Street in Brookville would be acquired by the town.

Club members went to Town Council requesting that the area be designated for pickleball. Council agreed and asked the club to develop a plan.

A fundraising campaign was started in late July with a goal of $39,551. The campaign came to an end on September 27 with a total of $43,785 being raised.

An old, unused vehicle maintenance building has since been demolished on the lot, leaving it ready to be transformed into an attractive gathering place.
