The Batesville team is eager to say thanks to those in the community at their branch located at the intersection of Highway 46 and State Road 129.

(Batesville, Ind.) - The Friendship State Bank and Friendship Insurance invite the Batesville community to join them June 8 from 8:30-Noon to celebrate 10 years in Batesville. The Batesville team is eager to say thanks to those in the community at their branch located at the intersection of Highway 46 and State Road 129. They are cooking up a fun morning with locally crafted muffins, gourmet coffee, fresh fruit, gifts, and giveaways from local businesses.
The Friendship State Bank and Friendship Insurance teams are also looking forward to warmer temperatures than their grand opening 10 years ago. The brutal winter temperatures on January 17, 2009 didn’t keep the people of Batesville and the surrounding communities from welcoming The Friendship State Bank to its newest location. The warm welcome and packed lobby left a lasting impression on Friendship Insurance Agent Andy Schwegman and Friendship State Bank Branch Manager Karin Johnson.
“It was fantastic to see so many folks I already knew, come to Friendship as new customers,” Johnson said. “I felt that we were truly welcomed as a new business in town.”
Schwegman shared that the tight-knit community and small-town feel has made it easy to feel at home. He has enjoyed connecting with and serving customers over the past decade and is eager to meet more people this year.
“The community we serve is made up of honest, hard-working people. It is very satisfying to be able to provide services to such a warm, friendly community,” Johnson said. “Our customers tell us that they are happy to have a community bank that truly cares about their well-being. I like to think that our customers know, really know, that we care about them. We want them to feel like they are family through their banking experience.”
The Friendship State Bank has since opened two additional branches in Lawrenceburg and Madison at the invitation of area residents. All Friendship State Bank branches are within a 25 mile radius of the main office located in Friendship, Indiana. That means decisions regarding customer needs are made locally. Friendship State Bank leadership is committed to remaining an independent, locally-owned bank focused on Southeastern Indiana.
The Friendship State Bank, founded in 1912, combines on-the-go banking tools with reliable community banking through its branches serving customers in Friendship, Dillsboro, Rising Sun, Versailles, Vevay, Batesville, Lawrenceburg, and Madison.
