(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – It is going to be a chilly start to the week.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wilmington, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 24 are expected tonight.
In response, a Freeze Warning has been issued for the tri-state area from 10:00 p.m. Monday to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.
The NWS says frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Residents are urged to take steps to protect tender plants from the cold and have in-ground sprinkler systems drained.
Below freezing temperatures are expected to continue Tuesday and Wednesday night. There is even a chance for some scattered snow showers on Tuesday night.
