(Aurora, Ind.) – A former employee at the Chipotle restaurant in Aurora has been sentenced for stealing a man’s identity. Abdul Kunateh, of Ghana, West Africa, was arrested in September of 2015 and charged with four felonies, including Fraud after a Kettering, Ohio man reported that somebody was using his identity to rack up thousands of dollars in charges. According to court records, the victim found that somebody had opened a debit card using his bank account and spent just over $6,000 at stores in Aurora and Lawrenceburg. Aurora Police were able to identify Kunateh from surveillance video at one of the stores. The video also showed him wearing a black shirt with a Chipotle logo as he was purchasing money orders. Kunateh recently pleaded guilty to Fraud (level 5 felony) in Deaborn Circuit Court. On November 22, he was sentenced to six years in jail with four years suspended to probation. Kunateh will receive five good time days served from September 14-18. He was also ordered to pay over $8,000 in restitution on the day of sentencing. Kunateh’s cousin, Saadugu Seidu, also of Ghana, West Africa, was arrested in March for his alleged involvement in fraudulent behavior. However, all charges against Seidu were dismissed this past June. RELATED STORIES: Restaurant Employee Accused Of Stealing Identity Aurora Resident Accused Of Fraud, Theft
