(Indianapolis, Ind.) – Former Indiana 6th District Congressman Luke Messer is becoming a lobbyist.

It was announced Tuesday that Messer has agreed to become the co-leader of a Washington, D.C. lobbying firm called Faegre Baker Daniels Consulting.

Messer, a Republican, spent the last six years representing southeast Indiana in Congress. He left congress after losing a primary battle for Indiana’s U.S. Senate seat last year.

Under his new position, Messer says he’s going to help clients navigate the complex maze of federal policy decisions in Washington.

Messer will also get to be closer to home, working at the firm’s office in Indianapolis.
