(St. Leon, Ind.) – East Central Middle School agriculture teacher McCord Snider has been nominated for a statewide award.
On Wednesday, FFA State Officer Carson Rudd (Carroll @ Flora FFA Chapter) came to East Central Middle School and presented Mr. Snider with a plaque to recognize him as one of eight finalists for the FFA Golden Owl Award.
The award recognizes outstanding agricultural educators and their tremendous contributions to help the next generation of agricultural leaders.
Nominees have an opportunity to win the title of Indiana Agricultural Educator of the Year and great cash prizes. Prizes include:
- $500 to each of the 8 honorees and an engraved plaque to each honoree
- $3,000 to the grand prize winner and the coveted Golden Owl Award trophy
In December, Snider was named one of 36 agricultural educators nationwide who received the 2023 National Association of Agricultural Educators Teachers Turn the Key Scholarship Award, presented during the 2023 NAAE Convention in Phoenix.
