It was the first time members of the East Central FFA competed at the event.

(St. Leon, Ind.) – Sixteen members of the East Central FFA Chapter showed off their skills at a local competition last week.
The Area 1 Livestock Skillathon CDE took place at South Ripley High School on September 13.
It was the first time East Central FFA members competed at the event. Team members answered questions about the industry and quality assurance, in addition to identifying several types of breeds, livestock equipment, feeds and meats.
The senior team of Madison Shumate, Maddie Dawson, Megan Sierra and Jacob Kuhn place third and the team of Amelia Hartman, Heath Doll, Alex Dudley and Madison McAdams placed seventh.
Juniors Bradley Kolb, William Scudder, Lydia Kidd and Brady Hornberger finished third in their division, while the team of Isaac Hartman and Lloyd Darringer placed fourth.
The East Central FFA Chapter would also like to recognize Emma Gutfreund and Andrew Rennekamp for competing as individuals.
