Early Morning Fire Destroys Home Near Versailles

Multiple agencies responded to the blaze early Thursday morning.

(Versailles, Ind.) - Firefighters received an early wake up call on Thursday.

Versailles Fire Rescue was dispatched to a structure fire on U.S. 50 west of Versailles at 4:33 a.m.

Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters encountered a fully involved residential fire with the potential to spread to other nearby structures.

The fire was contained to the residence, but the home was a total loss.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Versailles Fire was assisted at the scene by Holton VFD, Osgood VFD, Napoleon VFD, Ripley County EMS, Holton PD, and the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office.
