Construction is continuing on the 10,000-square-foot, three-story destination.

(Batesville, Ind.) - Kids Discovery Factory (KDF) is proud to unveil a new brand identity that reflects the organization’s growth, vision, and the exciting transformation underway as the museum prepares to open its new, expanded home in downtown Batesville.

The refreshed brand marks a pivotal moment in KDF’s journey—from a mobile, community-based program serving thousands of children across southeastern Indiana to a 10,000-square-foot, three-story destination for hands-on STEAM learning. As construction continues, the new visual identity captures the energy, creativity, and innovation that will define the museum’s next chapter.

The updated brand features a modern, factory-inspired design with vibrant colors including purple and blue, accented with pops of yellow. The refreshed look blends industrial elements with imaginative play while honoring the region’s deep manufacturing roots and celebrating creativity, exploration, and discovery

The rebrand also influenced key updates to the museum’s exterior design. Inspired by the new visual identity, KDF reimagined the building façade to be more colorful and welcoming. The revised exterior design enhances the museum’s presence in downtown Batesville and signals that this is a place built for imagination and hands-on learning.

With the launch of the new brand also comes the launch of a new website: www.visitkdf.org. The new site reflects the museum’s updated look and provides an easy-to-navigate experience for families, partners, and supporters.

While the web address has changed, the previous website URL will continue to direct visitors to the new site.

Visitors are encouraged to explore the “Watch Us Grow” page on the new website for construction updates, project milestones, behind-the-scenes photos, and information about the capital campaign as the museum moves closer to opening.

Since 2013, Kids Discovery Factory has impacted more than 65,000 children across 30 counties through camps, school outreach, and community programs. When it opens, the new museum will offer immersive experiences in water, air, manufacturing, engineering, art, and design—including a partnership with Purdue University’s IN-MaC Design and Innovation Studio.

The new brand positions Kids Discovery Factory not just as a children’s museum, but as a regional hub for playful learning, workforce inspiration, and community pride.

“This brand is a reflection of the future we’re building,” Emili Uden, KDF Executive Director added. “A future where children see themselves as creators, problem-solvers, and innovators—and where our community proudly invests in spaces that show young people they matter.”
