(Greendale, Ind.) - Dunkin' Donuts celebrated the Grand Opening of their new Greendale location on Friday morning.

They did so by giving back to the community.

Co-owners and siblings, Brian Benhase and Jennifer Workman, donated $5,000 to Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation for their Kindness Fund.

"We've worked extensively with a lot of different in the school districts where our stores are located and we love to be able to give back especially in situations for children. We were looking for ways to donate and the Kindness Fund came up as an opportunity to give back to the kids that need it the most," said co-owner Jennifer Workman.

Lawrenceburg Primary School principal Tammy Greive, Central Elementary School principal Staci Knigga, Greendale Middle School principal Jayme Herbert, and Lawrenceburg High School principal Jared Leiker were on hand to accept the check from the Dunkin' Donuts brass.

With the Kindness Funds at each of Lawrenceburg's four schools, principals are able to help out families when there is a need for their students. For example, Kindness Funds can be used to provide clothing for a student or a field trip cost, or any unexpected cost that may come up.

"Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation is grateful for the partnership that Dunkin' Donuts and their grand opening has provided our schools," said Superintendent Karl Galey. "We're so appreciative of the donation by Dunkin' Donuts through their grand opening and we look forward to future partnerships with them as well."

Dunkin' Donuts Greendale is located at 448 Dunkin' Drive, just off of Rudolph Way. The site was located and built by Maxwell Construction.

Plans are in the works for another new store in St. Leon, near Interstate 74.
