Willie Robertson appears on the A&E television program Duck Dynasty.
(Connersville, Ind.) - A reality TV celebrity will be in our neck of the woods this summer.
The Fayette County Regional Health System is bringing Willie Robertson from the hit A&E reality series, Duck Dynasty, to Connersville.
The top-rated cable program follows Robertson, the bearded President and CEO of Duck Commander, as he and his family run their business, which he has grown to a multi-million dollar company.
As part of Fayette Regional Health System’s 100th anniversary celebration in 2013, Robertson will speak at two appearances at the Spartan Bowl in Connersville on June 15. Proceeds from the event – after expenses are covered – will be donated to the Connersville High School Key Club and Future Farmers of America.
"The students were looking at options for a yearly fundraiser. The idea to get A&E’s Duck Dynasty came from one of our brainstorming sessions. It’s been a long process, and we couldn’t have done it without the help of Fayette Regional,” said event organizer and Connersville High School Key Club Advisory Shantel Cartwright.
One show will begin at 4:00 p.m. Due to anticipated high demand, a second show will begin at 7:00.
"Since the word has gotten out that we were working to make this event happen, we have been inundated with calls and questions. We decided to add the second show to handle the anticipated demand for tickets," Cartwright said.
The event will feature Robertson sharing stories about his family and the work ethic that has grown Duck Commander. There will be a question-and-answer session with him following the program.
Ticket information has not yet been announced, but will soon be posted at www.FayetteRegional.org/Ducks. Other questions can be answered by calling Fayette County Regional Health at (812) 827-7705 or email ducks@fayetteregional.org.
