Driver Charged for Crash that Knocked Out Power in Bright

The incident took place on February 7

(Bright, Ind.) – In the early morning hours of February 7, the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Salt Fork Road and One Mile Road for a traffic crash involving downed power lines.

As result of the crash, a large number of area residents were without power for approximately 12 hours and traffic access to and from the One Mile Road area was significantly impacted.

Investigators located a black GMC Sierra with its hazard lights activated. However, the occupant of the vehicle was no longer on scene.

The vehicle was registered to Daniel Sizemore, 33, of Lawrenceburg. Evidence gathered indicated he was the driver of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

On May 18, Sizemore was charged with Criminal Mischief (Damage Exceeding $50,000) and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

He was booked into Dearborn County Jail on May 20 and has since posted bond.
