(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Dearborn County Parks have gone smoke-free.

A celebration was held on April 1 at Bright Meadows Park.

Festivities included a grant award from the Nicotine Action Alliance and clean-up from the East Central High School baseball team.

April 1 also marked the official opening date for all five Dearborn County Parks. On this date each year, volunteers fill and empty water lines to the bathrooms and open reservations for shelters at all parks through an online scheduling season.

Dearborn County Parks include over 100-square-miles of forest, five walking trails, four sports fields, and four picnic shelter areas.
