Dearborn Co. Road To Receive State Support

(Friendship, Ind.) - Dearborn County Commissioners have approved a measure designating a county-maintained road for state funding.

State Road 62 near Friendship remains closed after parts of it were washed out by heavy rains last April. Indiana Department of Transportation engineers continue to work on a fix.

Farmers Retreat Road in southwestern Dearborn County has taken on a lot of the traffic for people travelling to and from Friendship.

Commissioners voted January 4 to designate the road as a state detour, meaning it can repaired during the State Road 62 closure using state funds instead of eating into the county’s highway budget.
