Dearborn Co. BZA Approves Of Guilford Hunting Club

A newly granted permit will allow a private hunting club to be established in Guilford.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - A hunting club has been approved by the Dearborn County Board of Zoning Appeals.

At a crowded Tuesday evening meeting, the BZA voted 4-0 to approve a conditional use permit for Brian Lane to operate a private hunting club on more than 400 acres along York Ridge Road in Guilford.

Several people spoke out against the proposal at the meeting. Three spoke in favor before the BZA voted to grant the permit.

Lane is leasing the property from property owner Blind Hunt Club LLC. The Utah-based company has previously proposed a large housing development on about 186 acres of the land.

Lane shared with Eagle Country 99.3 last week his plans for the hunting club, which he has promised will be operated in a safe manner. The Burlington, Kentucky resident has operated other hunting clubs in Dearborn and Boone counties in years past.
