(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Four vote centers will be open in Dearborn County on Election Day, November 5.

This is the first year Dearborn County is using vote centers for its elections. The idea is that the county opens fewer polling places, but instead of being required to vote at an assigned precinct, voters can visit any of the centers to cast their ballot on an electronic machine.

2019 is a municipal election year in Indiana, meaning most elections are limited to city and town offices instead of county-wide elections.

The Dearborn County Board of Elections says vote centers will be open on Election Day from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. for the city and residents to vote for their officials at the following locations:

  • Lawrenceburg Firehouse, 300 West Tate Street, Lawrenceburg
  • Greendale Cabin, 827 Nowlin Avenue, Greendale
  • Aurora Park Pavilion, 415 Park Avenue, Aurora
  • West Harrison Town Hall, 100 Railroad Avenue, West Harrison

“Any registered voter within city limits may vote at any one of these four locations. All locations will have all voter and candidate information,” according to the election board.

Early voting in Indiana will begin Tuesday, October 8. In Dearborn County, early in-person absentee voting will be held at the Dearborn County Government Center each weekday from noon until 4:00 p.m. The early voting office will also be open October 26 and November 4 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Dearborn County will also offer in home early voting by the travel board. Valid applications must be filled out by the voter to vote early.
