(Woonsocket, RI) - CVS Pharmacy is planning to sell cannabis-based products in eight states.
The hemp-derived CBD products will be available in Alabama, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland and Tennessee.
The products will be creams, sprays, and roll-ons that provide an alternative source of relief. CVS said it will not be selling any CBD-based supplements or food additives.
Hemp has higher concentrations of CBD than its cannabis cousin, marijuana. THC, the psychoactive chemical that causes the high, is found in marijuana.
CVS announced the cannabis-based products would be available at 800 stores in those eight states.
Other stores have already been selling CBD products to the public in Indiana. Your CBD Store opened in Lawrenceburg late last year following the legalization of CBD products in the state.
