Frontier Airlines
(Hebron, Ky.) - A low-fare airline will call the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport home.
Frontier Airlines says it'll launch nonstop service from CVG to Denver in May, ending a two-year quest by airport officials to attract a discount carrier. Starting one-way fares to and from Denver will be $99 each way.
Frontier offers connecting flights from its Denver hub to 19 western U.S. cities. The first flight from Denver will arrive on May 19.
“We are proud to offer this additional nonstop connection to Denver and the west coast for our business and leisure passengers in the region,” said Candace S. McGraw, the airport’s CEO.
Kenton County Airport Board Chairman James Huff expects the additional service to be welcomed by both business and leisure passengers
“The Board has been working to address the needs of travelers in our three-state region. This new service, combined with our existing flight schedule, demonstrates how we're looking for new opportunities for both the public and our airline partners.”
Based in Denver, Frontier Airlines began operation 19 years ago and is now a subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings Inc. The company employs 4,500 people.
