Crescent Springs Mayor Passes Away

(Crescent Springs, Ky.) – The City of Crescent Springs is mourning the loss of its mayor.

Lou Hartfiel passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Sunday, according to a Facebook post from the City.

Hartfiel was elected as Mayor in 2014. During his time in office, he played a pivotal role in the creation of the Crescent Springs Community Park, kept tax rates low, and brought many memorable events to the park.

He also spearheaded efforts to raise funds for three monuments at Crescent Springs Community Park, including the Kenton County Veterans Memorial, 9/11 Memorial, and the Charters of Freedom.

Before he was elected as mayor, Hartfiel served on City Council in the 90’s and again from 2011-2014.

Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.
