(Osgood, Ind.) – A former Jac-Cen-Del schools teacher and coach, as well as a Ripley County Council member, has been arrested on sex charges.

Chad Pindell, of Napoleon, was charged with felony Child Seduction and Dissemination of Harmful Material. He was arrested and jailed on Sunday.

No further details behind the charges have been released yet.

Pindell is currently an elected member of Ripley County Council. He is a former teacher at Jac-Cen-Del Elementary School and volunteer coach with the Jac-Cen-Del High School girls basketball team.

According to Jac-Cen-Del Community Schools Superintendent Tim Taylor, Pindell no longer serves with the district.

“Mr. Pindell resigned his teaching position at Jac-Cen-Del Elementary in July prior to start of the current school year. He recently resigned his position as a volunteer basketball coach as well,” Taylor told Eagle Country 99.3 on February 28.

Indiana State Police are leading the investigation of Pindell. On February 26, ISP Sgt. Stephen Wheeles said that the school district contacted ISP “about a matter they became aware of.” At the time, Wheeles would not confirm if that was in regard to Pindell.
