(Guilford, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Sunesis Construction Company is scheduled to close State Road 1 at Mt. Pleasant Road on or after Monday, April 15, to complete a slide correction near Guilford.
The closure will take place approximately 4.5 miles north of U.S. 50 and is expected to be complete by mid-December, weather permitting. Crews will begin to place signage in the area prior to the start of construction. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows S.R. 1 to I-74 to I-275 to U.S. 50 back to S.R. 1.
This project is part of a $2.1 million contract awarded to Sunesis Construction in December 2023. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
