(Batesville, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Sunesis Construction Company is scheduled to close North Huntersville Road over I-74 on or after Monday, March 31, to complete a bridge replacement project in Batesville.

The closure will take place over I-74 located between County Road 700 South and State Road 46. North Huntersville Road is expected to reopen in late August, weather permitting.

Additional work will take place under flagging operations following the closure. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows C.R. 700 S. to S.R. 229 to S.R. 46.

Periodic shoulder closures and rolling slowdowns will be used on I-74 while bridge work is in progress. INDOT will provide additional information as needed.

This work is part of a $2.6 million contract awarded to Sunesis in September 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
