City of Lawrenceburg to Provide Winter Storm Shelter

The announcement comes in response to extreme cold temperatures expected in the area this weekend.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The City of Lawrenceburg, Indiana is providing a Winter Storm Shelter in response to the potential for hazardous wintry weather with extreme cold, strong winds and possible snow in place for the region later this week. Individuals or families in need will have access to a monitored heated shelter, blankets, cots, water and free wi-fi as a public resource for remote learning or working remotely. 

WHERE: Lawrenceburg Boy Scout Cabin, 461 West High St., Lawrenceburg IN 47025

WHEN: Starting at 8 am Thursday December 22nd, 2022 thru 8 am on Tuesday December 27th, 2022

PASSWORD:  Acityontherise!

Please note that there is limited parking availability at the Boy Scout Cabin. At this time there are no organizational meetings or events scheduled at the Boy Scout Cabin during the Winter Emergency Shelter usage. Following the 6-day community response period, city officials will re-evaluate the need to continue providing an available Winter Storm Shelter.

Donations are not needed at this time.  For those wanting to offer help, the best gift is that of your time to check in on those in need with comfort and support.
