A public hearing will be held on August 13.

(Aurora, Ind.) - The City of Aurora is proposing a new monthly fee for customers of Aurora Utilities.
A notice for a public hearing on proposed adjustments to water charges was recently sent out to property owners, ratepayers, and other interested parties in or served by Aurora Utilities.
City Council will hold a public hearing on August 13 at 5:00 p.m. at the Aurora City Building in order to receive public input on the proposed rate increases.
The rates effect only water, not sewer. Current charges per 1,000 gallons, fire hydrants, and fire systems will remain the same.
Meter charge per each meter are as follows:
- 5/8" x 3/4" meters = $3.00 monthly
- 1" meter = $7.50 monthly
- 1 1/2" meters = $15.00 monthly
- 2" meters = $30.00 monthly
- 3" meters = $75.00 monthly
- 4" meters = $ 184.50 monthly
- 6" meters = $400.00 monthly
The funds generated by this charge will be dedicated to water tank maintenance, pump stations, and well maintenance and water main replacement.
