(Boone County, Ky.) – A 19-year-old from Burlington has died from injuries sustained in a crash last week in Boone County.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office announced today the passing of Briannah Pyles.

Pyles was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash with extrication on Interstate 75 last Tuesday.

Investigators say Pyles was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Corbin Adams, 21, of Dry Rigde. Adams was traveling northbound on I-75 at the 174.9 mile marker when for an unknown reason his vehicle stopped in the left lane just over a hillcrest.

At the same time, a 2018 Freightliner semi-tractor trailer hauling two trailers rear-ended Adams’ vehicle. The impact forced both vehicles across all lanes of the interstate.

Pyles was airlifted to UC Medical Center, where she passed way on October 7.

Adams suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the semi driver was uninjured.

The investigation is ongoing.
