(Burlington, Ky.)  – The Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky is announcing their latest public event; The Big Dig, presented by Riegler Blacktop and Dudley Construction.  “The Big Dig is designed to introduce youth of any age to our industry,” said Brian Miller, executive vice president of the trade association.  “We have the strongest workforce development program of any builders association in the nation and wonderful relationships with our education partners in the community.  Now is the right time to launch a major event and make a big splash with The Big Dig,” Miller concluded.  The Big Dig will be held at the Boone County Fairgrounds, 5819 Idlewild Roan in Burlington, Kentucky on Saturday, April 21st from 10:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. only.  The cost to attend is $5.00 per person.  Toddlers three and under are free.  Event partners include Riegler Blacktop, Dudley Construction, Taylor Bros, Donato’s, Florida Tile, Kelly Bros, ABC Supply, Helmer Plumbing, Janell and Martin Marietta.

The Big Dig will feature a dozen or more heavy equipment machines that visitors can actually run under the supervision of trained operators.   Huge hauling trucks, bulldozers, skid steers, excavators, dump trucks, boom trucks, concrete mixer trucks, and other machinery will be on site.  Hands on construction experiences will fill the covered pavilion where you can hammer, cut, pull, install, bend and mortar real materials used in construction. At the Big Dig you can get as dirty as you wish.
