Bridge Painting Begins Next Week On US 52 & SR 1 in Franklin County

A temporary signal will be put in place near the work zone.

(Franklin County, Ind.) – Traffic will be impacted by a bridge painting project that begins next week in Franklin County.

The Indiana Department of Transportation says work is expected to begin on U.S. 52 over Big Cedar Creek near Cedar Grove and State Road 1 over the Whitewater River following signal installation that is planned on or after Monday, August 24.

Signal installation will occur at the U.S. 52 bridge with the State Road 1 signal scheduled later in the week.

Painting will follow and is expected to be complete on U.S> 52 in approximately 30 days, and in approximately 90 days on State Road 1.

The entire project is expected to be complete in November.

Motorists should slow down, watch for stopped traffic and drive distraction free through the work zone.

Total cost of the project is $500,000.
