(Boone County, Ky.) – A Boone County jailer has been arrested for inappropriate behavior with female inmates.
On Wednesday, June 21, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office received a request from the Boone County Jail for an investigation pursuant to the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA).
The Boone County Jail notified the Sheriff’s Office of possible criminal activity by a deputy jailer.
Detectives found that Trenton Westfall, 28, of Elsmere, befriended multiple female inmates while working as a deputy jailer. He allegedly used jail phone calls and the jail’s text messaging system to communicate with the inmates and requested they perform various sexual acts for him to see.
On at least two occasions, Westfall used a cell phone to record the acts. In return, detectives say Westfall would provide the female inmates with preferential treatment.
He is charged with two counts of Video Voyeurism (Class D Felony), two counts of Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), and four counts of Official Misconduct 1st Degree (Class A Misdemeanor).
Westfall is lodged at the Boone County Jail.
